Benefits of Using Essential Oils

I have recently gotten into the essential oils game and I really dove in head first.  I started out with just applying some essential oils to my body and pillow at night, to using a diffuser, and then inhaling it.  I will get into all of that eventually, but I really did want to share my love for essential oils.  Husband is a little skeptical about using essential oils but I have always been looking for natural ways to heal myself and to better myself.  I wanted to start a series on my blog where I talk about the more natural healing methods that I use – mainly the use of essential oils.

This may not be for everyone.  In fact, I know there are some people in my family who don’t believe that essential oils work, and that’s okay!  I don’t expect everyone to think that essential oils work, but they work for me.

Also, it’s important to mention that different essential oils do different things.  For example, lavender is really good for relaxation and some essential oils are good for helping colds.

So what are the benefits of using essential oils?

Essential oils can be used as bug deterrent (my father-in-law uses peppermint to ward off spiders) and they can also be used to make cleaning products.  I like to use essential oils with my mop to make the floor smell great.

Essential oils can also be used to help with colds and ailments.  I use a calming stick with different essential oils that I apply topically to help with my anxiety.  I also use my diffuser with peppermint and tea tree oil to help when I get sick or when the daycare gets sick.

Essential oils can be used to help relax and help you sleep.  It can also be used to give you energy throughout the day.

I also just love the smell of some essential oils.  I will be sharing a post with my favorite essential oils that I use on a regular basis soon.

Do you use essential oils?  What do you use them for?
