Let’s talk. I do not like doing laundry. It hurts my back, there is lots of back and forth, and don’t even get me started on folding my laundry. All of my laundry is sitting on our ping pong table in a heap. I don’t care if there are wrinkles. I don’t want to fold it.
I don’t believe in using fabric softener. I honestly think it’s a waste of money (I know, typical Millenial. I won’t apologize). I use the standard laundry detergent and maybe some Oxy-Clean if there are some really bad stains. I don’t like spending money. Okay wait, let me rephrase, I don’t like spending money on add-ons to necessary things because I like to spend money on unnecessary things.
Insert Downy Unstopables. It claims that it can keep your clothes smelling fresh for up to 12 weeks (wash to wear). I figured since I got a free sample, it wouldn’t hurt to try it out. I wouldn’t have to spend any money and I don’t want to waste it.
It looks like you’re sprinkling little wax melts in your laundry. You shake it on top of your clothes in the washer and wash it with your clothes. Proceed as normal. The scent is your standard laundry scent but amplified. It smells so good. I love that you don’t have to do a lot of extra work to have amazing smelling clothes.
But Amanda, doesn’t scented laundry detergent do the same thing?
No!
The thing is, scented laundry detergent does make your clothes smell amazing but Downy Unstopables makes the smell of your clothes a lot stronger. If you are looking for a subtle smell that no one will notice this is not the product for you. I can smell my laundry right when I walk in the room. I know when Husband takes a load of clothes out of the dryer because the whole upstairs smells like Downy.
This is something that I will definitely be using for life. It doesn’t seem like a big deal, but I didn’t realize that getting a huge whiff of clean laundry and Downy Unstopables actually changes my mindset throughout the day. You know those commercials where amidst the chaos of the day a woman is ignoring everything to smell fresh laundry? Ya, that’s kinda like me now.
