Clark County Fair (Photo Dump)

This weekend we went to the Clark County Fair and it was great.  Our original intention was to go both Saturday and Sunday because they had fair concerts (Pat Benatar and Grand Funk Railroad) but we only ended up going on Saturday because Sunday had its own adventures.

Saturday started out with us beelining it to the food court.  My sister bought a Blooming Onion for breakfast, my nephew and brother-in-law got burgers for breakfast, and Husband and I bought a bucket of mini doughnuts.  After we had settled down at a picnic table, Husband set off to find my sister and me the coveted frozen lemonade that we always look forward to getting.

After we had stuffed ourselves silly, we made our way to an air-conditioned shopping area where I may have purchased too many things.  When Husband went off to use the bathroom the hunt was on to buy even more things.  This seriously took us like 2 or 3 hours to go through and it was beautiful.  After the shopping excursion, we spun some wheel giveaway games (where I won a free river cruise) and then we ate even more food.

While my mom rested in the shade and watched dogs jump off of docks, the rest of us embarked on a ride and game adventure.  Husband and I blew way too much money to play games but we won some nice prizes.  We spent an hour playing games and we decided that after making a trip to the car that we should probably pay attention to some of the main attractions.  There were some reptiles and animals that I don’t make a habit of going near, but I took some photos of interesting ones for you guys.

This is a legless lizard.  I didn’t stick around to find out more.  This dude creeped me out.

This video is the legless lizard moving – with commentary by Husband.  He swore, bad him.

There was also a guy making a giant sand sculpture.  It was so cool!  I was a little sad that we couldn’t stick around to watch him create it.

It was finally time for Pat Benatar.  We made our way to the Beer & Wine Garden to get drinks and hung out there for a bit to get ready for the show.

After bathroom breaks, drink acquirement, and band merch purchases, we met up with my mother-in-law and stepfather-in-law because they decided to also show up to Pat Benatar (which was awesome).

The show was amazing!  I woke up the next day to my voice dying because I was screaming so much.  We were going to go back the next day to see Grand Funk Railroad, but my mom’s new 9-week old puppy, Poppy wouldn’t let us leave.  But, we had fun on Saturday and I was a little relieved that we didn’t have to endure the fair another day.

  1. This sounds just like our state fair that is coming up in a few weeks! We also have a sand sculpture, as well as a butter sculpture that highlights our NYS dairy farm! We look forward to it every year!

    1. I’ve seen pictures of the butter sculpture! Miss K went last year and it looked so much fun! I remember I almost went one year but I didn’t (I was pregnant and didn’t feel like messing with crowds!) Thanks for reading!
